I am a true Fairmont-ian! I grew up right here in the City of Lakes. I did what many other kids did; rode my bike, played night games with the neighbor kids, and swam in the kidney shaped yacht club pool. Back then, I did not know how blessed I was to have such a beautiful town, with family core values, exquisite scenery and caring residents. Now as an adult, I am lucky enough to appreciate my surroundings, the lakes, the people, and especially the Chain of Lakes Yacht Club. The amenities of the CLYC far exceed any other facility of its kind in the area.
My husband Travis, daughter Megan (11) and I live just south of town on South Silver Lake. Travis and I are both Fairmont High School Graduates, and our daughter Megan attends Five Lakes Elementary in the 4th grade. Travis works for John Deere in Truman, and I am a Sales and Service Technician for Easy Automation, INC in Welcome. Megan is your typical eleven year old, who enjoys her friends, swimming and especially the Yacht Club. My family treasures our seasons here in Fairmont. We are avid swimmers, boaters, snowmobilers and motorcyclists.
We joined the Chain of Lakes Yacht Club five years ago now, and I have been on the Board of Director’s for the past four years as the Social Director, elected 2010-2011 Commodore, and re-elected Commodore for the 2011-2012 Seasons. I hope to continue to raise Membership as well as assist with bettering the club.
This year will be the first year in many years that we are keeping the Club open YEAR ROUND! Watch your emails for fun events hosted by the CLYC!

I have been a member of the Fairmont Community since I was three years old. After graduating from College my husband, Scott and I moved back to Fairmont in 1998. We have two boys - Colby who is 11 and Carson who is 9. We have been members of the Yacht Club since 2000 and we have thoroughly enjoyed every year of our membership.
I am currently employed as a staff accountant with Steven E. Pierce CPA and my husband Scott is a Marketing Associate for Sysco Foods of Minnesota. I have been actively involved with the Yacht Club since 2000 in which I have been involved with the financial aspect of the club.
I have been an active board member for a number of years, in which I only took one-year absence in 2009. I will strive to continue to make improvements to the club so that every membership can get full use of the facility. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you may have. I became a boat owner 3 years ago and have really loved it! The Yacht Club is an awesome place for summer fun and relaxation!

My name is Marvel Snyder. My husband Donny, who is a retired farmer, and I have been Yacht Club members for over 30 years!
I own Curves in Fairmont, teaching Yoga and Zumba, and am an active part of the Yacht Club Community.
We have children all over the country from Los Angeles, California to Plymouth, Minnesota, to Kansas! They love that Donny and I are YC members, as they love to come home and enjoy the pool any time of the day, or come relax with us down by the lake in the summer evenings. Our seven grandchildren especially love it!

My name is Al Pelzer. I moved to Fairmont 14 years ago when the City of Fairmont selected me to take over Five Lakes Aviation as the Fixed Base Operator and to manage the Airport.
I am a flight instructor and have been the Chief Pilot for Easy Automation, INC in Welcome for the past 20+ years. I am also a partner in A & J Docks, a Fairmont based business.
My wife Betsy and I live on Budd Lake Drive and thoroughly enjoy the lakes all year round.
I have been a member of the Chain of Lakes Yacht Club for over ten years and have previously served on the Board of Directors. I look forward to another great membership-building year!

My name is Craig Diegnau. I live in Fairmont with my wife, Jenni; and three children, Andrew, Connor and Maisy.
I am the owner and operator of the Service Master/Indoor Technologies in town as well as doing a little farming near Huntley. Jenni is a teacher at the new Fairmont Elementary School.
In my free time, I enjoy being with my family on the boat, riding my Harley with friends, snowmobiling, and ice fishing and hunting in the fall and winter. I also love to travel and spend time working on projects around the house and in my shop.
I am glad to be a part of the Chain of Lakes Yacht Club and appreciate the conveniences it provides for my family. Again this year I will be heading up the Waterfront Committee.

My name is Joe Haefner. I grew up in Mankato and graduated from Mankato East High School.
My job at Bolton & Menk, INC. moved me to Fairmont in 2005. I work as a Licensed Land Surveyor in the Fairmont Office of Bolton & Menk, INC. I provide land surveying services for out companied Civil Engineering projects and to private clients throughout Southern Minnesota and Iowa.
I have three children, Andrew(6), Alayna(4) and Luke(2). Andrew and Alayna attend preschool at St. Paul’s Lutheran School in town. Andrew is excited to attend kindergarten at Fairmont Elementary this year in the brand new school addition!
My family and I joined the Yacht Club two years ago and we have enjoyed many afternoons and evenings swimming and playing at the CLYC.
I look forward to being on the Board of Directors again this year and will be heading up the Marketing Committee for this season.

My name is Emily Beebe and my family and I have been members of the Yacht Club for 3 years. Our 1 st year we joined using the 50% off membership and we were hooked! We have met many new people even though my husband and I have lived in Fairmont most of our lives.
My husband Jeff is employed as a plumber at Total Comfort Systems here in Fairmont and I am employed at CHS, Inc as a Parts Inventory Assistant. We have 2 boys, Taylor who is a sophomore at Fairmont High and Carter who is in the 3 rd grade at Fairmont Elementary. Both boys are very active in football and basketball.
Last year I joined the social committee to help plan events for the YC members and this year I will be the director of the social committee. With the clubhouse open all year round for the 1 st time in many years, the social committee and I look forward to planning many more events!

My name is Carolynn Oskerson. I am a Project Manager at Avery Weigh-Tronix where I have worked for over 20 years. My husband Rick is the Arena Manager for Fairmont Youth Hockey and owner of Finishline Metals.

I have lived in Fairmont most of my life and spending time on the lakes has always been one of my favorite activities. Growing up my family spent many afternoons at the Yacht Club swimming, boating and picnicing with friends. Rick and I joined the Yacht Club more than 10 years ago and spend most of our summer weekends boating and gathering with friends around the pool or down on the beach. Our sons Brandon and Jayden were fortunate to have the Yacht Club to complete their swimming lessons as well as hang out with friends at the pool and the lake.

The Chain of Lakes Yacht Club is wonderful asset to the community. It is great to see the membership growing with all of the new young families!
